Eid al-Adha Campaign
Eid al-Adha is a time of giving, sharing, and joy in the Muslim world, and YAD (Youth Arabs Developing) saw this as a perfect opportunity to extend our mission of helping those in need. In line with the traditions of Eid, we organized a campaign in Jordan aimed at bringing happiness and relief to underprivileged families by providing them with essential items to celebrate the holiday.
The Campaign: A Collective Effort to Spread Happiness
YAD members united once again to make this campaign a success. We collected donations from our friends, families, and the community to purchase sheep, which is central to the Eid al-Adha tradition of Qurbani (sacrifice). The meat from these sheep was distributed to poor families, ensuring they could partake in the holiday celebrations.
But we didn’t stop at just providing meat. We wanted to bring an extra touch of joy by also distributing Arabic sweets, a staple in Eid celebrations. Thanks to generous sponsorships from UTG (United Trading Group) and Moonface, we were able to give out high-quality sweets from the renowned Lebanese brand Al-Hallab, including Maamoul, a traditional delicacy.
Committees in Action: Coordinated Efforts for Maximum Impact
As with our previous campaigns, YAD members worked together across various committees to ensure the success of this initiative:
- Partnership Committee: This team was responsible for planning the donation collection. They reached out to sponsors and coordinated with local businesses to secure the Arabic sweets, ensuring that our campaign had the necessary resources to reach as many families as possible.
- Fundraising and Donations: Just like in our previous efforts, every YAD member took on the responsibility of raising funds. By leveraging our network of friends and family, we collected the money needed to purchase sheep for the Qurbani and sweets for distribution.
- Digital Committee: This team managed all aspects of media production. They created the visual designs, printables, and any other media-related content needed for the campaign. They also documented the campaign by taking photos and videos of the distribution, which were later edited into a compelling video to showcase the impact of our work.
- Operations Committee: Focused on logistics, legal work, and accounting, this committee ensured that everything ran smoothly and that all funds and resources were managed transparently.
- Community, Engagement, and Culture Committee: This group played a key role in engaging YAD members and ensuring that the spirit of unity and purpose remained strong throughout the campaign. They also worked on gathering feedback to improve our future efforts.
Impact: Bringing Smiles and Joy to Families in Need
Through our Eid al-Adha campaign, YAD was able to bring smiles to the faces of many underprivileged families in Jordan. By providing them with fresh meat and delicious sweets, we helped these families celebrate Eid with the dignity and joy they deserve. This campaign was not only about distributing food; it was about showing care and solidarity, making sure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, could enjoy the festive season.
Conclusion: The Power of Unity in Action
YAD’s Eid al-Adha campaign is a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. By uniting our efforts, we were able to spread joy and uphold traditions, ensuring that the spirit of Eid reached every corner of our community. We remain committed to continuing our mission of helping those in need and fostering a sense of togetherness through our future initiatives.
